An NFT sells you a receipt for a file that anyone can copy. This is the other way around.
For fifty years the best minds got bought. People who should have been curing things and building things went to work making numbers move — and the numbers stopped standing for anything. What gets traded now is mostly speculation stacked on speculation, and it works the same way every time: find someone who knows less, take what they have.

The thing with value
is given away.
The thing that’s sold
is real.
Every song is free. All 434 of them, 34 albums’ worth. They stay free, for anyone, forever. Nothing here is behind a paywall and nothing ever will be.
What is for sale is the paper they were written on. One sheet. One copy. Ink put there by hand and never reproduced. No token, no certificate, no blockchain, no receipt pointing at a file somewhere else. You own the object or you do not.
Nothing can be built on top of it. Nothing can be leveraged against it. There is no derivative, no fractional share, no second edition — because there is exactly one, and when it is gone it is gone.
Every currency in history was paper standing in for something real. This skips the standing in. The note is the thing.
