I don't read the paper, hell I don't even watch the news,
When everybody's used to horror, then everyone's got the blues
There's always another plane crash and a gunman out on a rage,
I'll never pick up the paper unless its lining for my bird cage,
The worst news is on the cover seen by children of every age.
I got another idea - put the good stuff on the front page.
Then maybe people'll be happy and treat each other hind,
Have you heard an old expression - out of sight and outta mind,
When violence is on the T.V. then the children play with guns,
*But when they're watchin' Big Bird - Then they're havin fun
I'm movin to the mountains so I can lost watch the trees.
When you don't have any doors you don't need any keys,
I'll build my house with wood and makes my bed of straw,
And when I see a pig - it won't remind me of the law.
I won't use no roads, I'll set off on my own course,
Tradin' in my chevy for a sleep dog and a horse.
