Tell us they're going away
But they've planted seeds
That'll never wash away

SLAM the Door
I always keep my promises
Except the ones I make to myself
If I was someone else
Then I wouldn't need any help
You may not understand
what it's like to wear my clothes
But you can never open new doors
Until the old doors are closed
SLAM! It takes courage to slam the door
Though the lock will never be strong enough
Strangers and friends will try to break it down
LISTEN! You can hear them huff and puff
---
Caught up in the ratrace of time
Can't free myself from my mind
Sitting here on this fence
Waiting for a sign
Still searching for something
That may never be mine
Don't know where to look
Not sure of what i'll find
Wanting to see a master plan
Through the eyes of the divine

I tried to guide the dumb and blind.
But they wouldn't listen, No

When you look at me and think to yourself that
I should act my age...
I look back at you and wonder who ever let you out
of your cage?
Today was strange yet the night lies odd ahead.

Tell me any lie and I'll pretend to know it's true

So I never even try.
Is the only thing left to do

DEATH'S COLD EYES

I lay on the ground as I feel death's cold eyes
Even in defeat I am not taken by surprise
I am my own rock by no man's law I abide
In desperate times you can look for a place to hide
Now there's no escape, trouble has already come
You can never take back anything you've done
---
Car broken down by the side of the road
You gaze into your past as the memories get
old.
I don't have time to worry about the problems of
the world
I don't even have time for myself.
Let alone someone else.

You already know the reason why
Why I left you high and dry
Or should I say I left you low and wet
That's okay because you get what you get
and you got what you get
It's just the price you have to pay
So why are you so upset?
Now I ask you to go away
Because you're someone whom
I wish I never met.

"Luz stayed on duty for threemonths. They were glad
to let her. When they operated on him she prepared him
for the operating table; and they had a joke about
friend or enema" - A very Short Story.

-That's Hemingway... You're not reading
this - you're there. Your mind doesn't have
to stop and process every word it just
sinks in naturally. Hemingway is nice
because he gives you lots of breaks from
reading with his short and choppy
sentences. He knows people's attention spans
are short and I believe he predicted
television, DVDS, computers and the like would
do serious damage to people's minds
so he was wise enough to know that
to reach the children of the future he had
to make his sentences a heckuva
lot shorter than this one is. I also
believe that he would have punched
Mr. Melville right in the head, too.
Papa is plain (in his delivery) but the subject
is always pretty good and sometimes you
even get enema jokes... bonus!

you work so you can
pay for school
Clutching pennies is like pulling teeth

How many friends do you meet
Until you find your new best friend?
