Waiting... Searching...
For the love of my life
Haunting... Fleeting
So many [crossed out] forgotten lines
songs and rhymes
Like pages turning
Right in front of my eyes
Sad truths, un spoken lies.
All veiled in disguise
Sad & unhappy faces

I was Waiting... Searching...
To the love of my life
But they Haunting... Fleeting
Memories of my ex-wife

Are like Pages turning...
Right in front of my eyes
I see Pictures... Flashing...
Ya know pictures don't lie

I feel Embers burning
Though untold they won't die
I am Hunting... yearning...
And yet you don't know why

[Crossed out section: Searching learning / because they don't apply / do [?] concerning]

Now I'm Slowly learning
There's more than emptiness inside
And I give anything
But Laws of science don't apply

FATE IS A WORD

1. [Passion] is found in many shapes and forms
Within a tight black dress, within a uniform
In the [?] eyes of a mother
In the sighs of a lover (at [?] the morning)
- Oh yeah -

2. [Virtue] can't be found in [?] eyes of men
Nor in statues or [?] great monuments
Only [?] Through tough times and trial

or [?] false [?] compliment
- Oh yeah -

3. [Naked] [?] truth often hides where you least expect
Never in a lavish palace but in the [?] of neglect
[?] live inside glass houses
[?] should be careful of bricks
[?] those who are the chosen [?]
We don't always select
A ren't the ones that we'd pick
- Oh No -

4. [Fate] is a word made up by the scared
As the reason why they failed
On the reason why they never dared
To summon the courage to follow the voiced
They [?] always want to hear
didn't
- Oh yeah -

---

And I am a man who loves dishing
it out
Yet I always have problems when it comes
to myself
When it comes to stepping up I'm the first one
to speak
when it comes to the children I try my best to
teach
They say practice makes perfect
So I'd time to practice what I preach...
Oh yeah...
Oh no...
Maybe...

The words on this page
RESCUE
I know a man who died for his country
But it's probably not quite what you think
Paul was a rescue worker at ground zero
And when he went he was imbibed with drink

You see he drank himself into a stupor
A hundred grand in the hole with medical bills
His country said he had a pre-existing condition
And wouldn't help him cure his ills

For they never asked him for his help
Since He showed up on his own accord
Then He got sick like so many others did
And so this is his reward?

All he got was this song by me
No medal of honor, no key to the city
All he got was a cold shoulder's tarn
Chronic bronchitis and first degree burns

All he got was a name and a date
On a stone that his parents paid for
All he got was a slap in the face
For following the advice of JFK and other great
leaders who came before

---

The lesson I learned is keep walking
The next time you hear a cry for help
As this voice in my ear keeps on talking
Let us go before we fall victim ourself..

---

Merge with next poem
I, I don't want to lie to you
I don't wanna be your friend
I, I just want to confide in you
That I saved my best
For the very end

I, I'm not sure why I'm saying this
glad things went the way they did
Thought I was
O, I know I'm not the kinda guy
that keeps his feelings hid
Perhaps that's where the problem is...

---

I found an escape for every problem in the world
only six feet away at all times
Be it under water or under ground
the bubbles float up
The cashet's lowered down...
Other than than that...
Shut Up!!!
I don't wanna hear
anothe freakin [?] sound

The words on this page
I'm here, I'm there
I'm everywhere
Building bridges across the world
Well my boat floats
But everybody gets soaked
The captains floored
Just ignore it
Throw away your rain coats
And hop on board

I'm here, I'm there
I'm everywhere
Building bridges across the world

---

I used to be just like you
Angry and loud with something to prove
I spent my days confused

---

I picked up a piece of trash in the park near
where I live
Maybe I can't change the world - but still
I've got something to give
I crossed out a swear on the bench
at the park where I sit
Maybe I can't change the world - but still
I've got something to give

---

This neverending state of chaos reigns
We've got the water but we're fanning the flames
This land of ours is ripe with disease
And yet we're sending billions of dollars over seas

The words on this page
[Top left sheet]
The mounting problems of the world -
there not really there
When you see somebody bleeding and you
just stop and stare

Well my wedding ring is my only bling bling
And I still think I'm cool in my twelve dollar shoes
This song I sing, Hell, I download it for free
As long as I can make a living that suits me

I don't need a mansion in Beverly Hills
Only enough for a vacation and to pay my bills
I don't need a fan club or any icons in my tower
I just need the people cause the people have the power!
The mounting problems of the world -
There ain't no crime in my rhyme
I forgo the all false identity

Why is it that Sunday Catholics seem to rule
the world?
They make up all the rules for the boys and girls
Yet an hour a week is the only time they follow
Concerting all these poison pills they try to
get everyone to swallow them

[Bottom left sheet]
They step to the pulpit so you can hear them preach
As they smile as they lie then turn their back on
what they teach
And we're all losing faith when you don't walk
straight
Time is of the essence and it's getting late
The mounting problems of the world -
To some they're not just down here but up there
Hey, at least we're nice enough to share

Sure I know that some of you will never change
Still find you safety in the ball and the chain
In the sick and deranged in the hall of shame

Tight roping the line of infamy and fame
Helping to spread ignorance with the placed blame
Causing cancer of the mind within a thousand
at a time
Raping and pillaging all you can
-nothing gets left behind - it's time to face
The mounting problems of the world -- our fears
We've got a right to bare arms -- [?]
The mounting problems of the world..
I say we've got the right to arm bears.

[Right sheet]
I try to block it out but there's no escape
I'd give away freely what so many want to take
I wear my heart on my sleeve like it's written
on my shirt
Yes, there are diamonds in this world - but it's
mostly dirt

So much waste... so much to clean
That's reality... So perhaps it's better to dream
That the people on the street - They are not real
And those who are hunting cannot be healed
The mounting problems of the world -
They're not really there
If a tree falls in the woods -
does anybody care?

I am not cruising
one of those people in your
Mercedes SUV...
Whose battle cry is "change it in the name
of corporate greed!"
Laughing about how the worker at Walmart
don't mean nothing to me.
Fill it up - on vanity
Looking good but getting 10 MPG
Building your castle on inhumanity
Ain't getting getting any money [?]
That's using psychology... through ecology

Somewhere in here
I don't know where,
There is something greater than I
somewhere out there.
In fact I know right where
that awaits my wife my beautiful bride
Changed my life in the blink of an eye
If all [illegible] feels right as you lay by [illegible] side
Turning off the light and then saying good night

My wife awaits
At home with a little black man
Hey relax these are more facts than just that
She'll never get slapped
He's our kitty - it's only our cat, man
You're thinking of Robin
While I'm talking 'bout Batman

---

Nine o'clock at night is the time

Who could forget it? Another life...
I've never led it
Regrets are pathetic
My quote of the day - everyday
Let sleeping dogs lie
Well, not where I lay

Waiting for monkeys to evolve
Is like saying you're watching the
earth revolve
Or praying to a porcelin god
Thinking that the puzzle can be
solved
Child... what are you doing that for?
Oh my child... you could be doing
so much more

Where is Noah when you need him?
As the water runs God says, "We're even."
Stupid humans now see what you've done
There's ten feet of mud that fills the Garden of Eden
Yeah, you read the book but called the legend a myth
You never believed it could come to this
With so many false idols you just couldn't resist
Went to church on Sunday then became a hypocrite
You stood on your roof
and you shook your fists

---

As the bright green trees begin to lose
their leaves
You notice the morning nows seems colder
On the crisp fall air
You see that moone is there
As you peah behind your shoulder
Your lover awaits for your safe return
What heeps you warm is the love that burns
hold her

---

Finally the time has come..
I am the one.. the one who will lead you
So sorry mr. president, get bent!

Your mind starts roaming and just won't stop

I got something on my mind so I better

I hear the music in my heart but I just

I feel good inside but I can't explain it
I don't mind when people cry
I don't mind when it's raining
I don't mind when most people die
And if I said I did then that would be a lie
Between you and me we only need enough
people for the pace to survive
Another day, another factory
When you can't build wide you just
build it high
[Chorus: 1st 5 lines]

Many I have loved and then cut their strings
Just to end up watching each of them leave

Rise up Rise up
Smell the rebellion in the air
Has anyone noticed
That the president elect
His head is filled with gray hairs
Our grand fathers are all CEO's
While the grandsons are playing
Watching music videos
Both are losing touch with reality
The future and the past is scaring me
Either too much money
Or too much skin
Ain't nothing changed
It's the same old problems again

Moderation is the new sensation
It's the foot steps of fathers
Reberbrating the loud vibrations
Rise up Rise up
Smell the rebellion in the air
When the old and the new
Have each got the flue
There's no doctor in the house
Looks like it's all up to you

---

The infection of money
Is not quick to cease
Spreading and spreading
Like an air born disease
Throw away those phony pills
Blow your nose with those dollar bills
You can choose to be poor and cured
Or sick fithy rich
Though some might not know
which is which

Rise up Rise up
There's something in the air
But not everbody cares
Weap phony tears
Trying to muffle the lond
And quiet the fears
It's the same old problems again

Does daddy work seven days a week
Even though his kids have plenty to eat
Does mommy teach and cook and clean
And dicipline her kids when they get mean
When daddy gets home is mommy usleep
When daddy's not home do the children weep

Leaving your roots
The picture hanging on the wall
Tells the story of a hundred faces
The sparkle shinning in my eyes
Should show you I've traveled to so many places
I've been to France, I've been to Italy
But I'll never tell a soul just what that did to me
Just the fact that I ended up back here
Without reasons explained may seem unclear
In order to clarify you may ask me to verify
But I cannot certify that I have been purified
It's hard to leave your roots
Unless you're being carried away by men in suits
Hand over your John Hancock to the police
Officer and the judge
Wave good bye to phony alibis and hope they don't
hold a grudge

[drawing: face in the O, eyes in the word eyes]

The men who run the country only see things
one way - they only see the color green
They follow the same laws their fathers
made - while so much slips by unseen
old eyes - so much slips past
old eyes - the shadow has been cast
old eyes - time has shown will never last
old eyes - cannot see the world spin so fast
The old ways only worked in the old days

clear the deck

When the snowflakes cover the ground
And the color white is all around
When you stare out your window
Wondering whether or not

And think to yourself
That everyone pays a price
The time you have has only been leased
The clock on the wall is not your own
You measure importance from greatest to least
And you wonder whether or not you're really home

Well you only look down
As you cross the bridge
The light goes off
When you open the fridge
When christmas comes
Other people open your gifts
The Iceburg you're chained to
Never seems to drift

If you were at the beach
Then the sun would hide
The bus would come by
But wouldn't give you aride

When I'm with you I never want to say good bye
To A face so beautiful that the angels sigh
I think of you, in thoughts so kind
I painted your picture, hang it in my mind
I see your hazel eyes, the same color as mine
Yet beauty such as yours is so hard to define
If only I see then the others are blind
'Cause a heart, sweet as yours, is so hard to find
Don't run away, plant your feet on the ground
Hold onto my hand and don't make a sound
Just hold me close and feel my heart beat pound
Know that I've been upped and I've been downed
I've lost my direction but I think I've found
Someone who knows that love cuts like a knife
And that Someone you love helps you sleep good at night

---

I offer my bed as I offer my hand
As someone who knows life never goes as planned
Yet it makes feel better when someone understands
Know I see a woman and I see a man
And unlike Adam and Eve, who strayed from the garden
The prime of our lives is just now starting
We could go our seperate ways and each head home
And spend forever unfullfilled and all alone
But before you answer and fate is sealed
Know I am a poet who believes in ideals
And if you say no the I will write once again
As I will be happy if you just be my friend
Captured in rhyme your memory will live on
And you will be remembered after we're gone
With or without you, I will have to be Strong
If its not meant to be then this will just be a song

Maybe I'll see you again when all is well
Up there in heaven or maybe down here in hell
There's no telling what the tide will bring
to shore
No way to tell if we'll meet again once you
walk out the door
So much for talking, better start walking
with the clouds rolling in, pretty soon it'll pour
As all the dirt is washed away from the street
Like Tears cried over a battle that was lost in defeat
Soaked to the bone as you're on your way home
with the umbrella you hold you are not alone
Think of the one you love who you now despise
A Heart grown cold is a heart grown wise

---

Think of the one you love who you now despise
A heart grown cold is a heart grown wise

You said your hello's now say your goodbye's
Know that anything that lives is everything that dies

Everything happens for a reason you will realize
Even your worst nightmare could be a blessing in disguise

After the rain the sun will rise
You'll gaze up at brighter skies

Your soul will guide you when your heart tells lies
Some times when you search you have to close your eyes
When the waves get high they'll catch you by surprise
But when the ship starts sinking its time to cut your ties

Before the flood mother Nature sighs
She holds a power that no man denies

There is no [?] path straight as the crow flies
The journey you make is filled with lows and high's

Smashed is the equality, livin' in this world of sin
As long as you got power there's no trouble you're getting in.
An old football star he ain't gonna do no time,
Money, power and connections they all cover up the Crime
Killing death row inmates, I haven't seen the use,
The machine is all plugged in but it doesn't have the juice.
But when its time for you, your average American Joe,
They'll put you in your padded cell with no place else to go.
When they come and lock me up there's gonna be a parade,
They'll say they seen my writings and heared everyword I've said,
When I make parole they'll be snipers on the roof,
Hope they have an extra round because I'm bullet proof,
Well actually I'm not, I got no fortune or fame,
That's why when things go wrong they place on me the blame,
I tell them that they're wrong I only hurt myself.

Well I'm... against the
Struggling [crossed out] tide
Pen and paper by my side
Feeling great, oh wait, I lied
There's not much I trust, that sucks, but why cry?

Well there's---
So many things I want to change
The world and
its ways. All'lbe rearranged
Too busy pointing fingers [arrow pointing left] who will pay? Who's to blame?
All the while, the problem lingers - Things still [crossed out] stay the same
Well it's...
Been a long time since we truly had something to believe in
seems we're all riding on the edge daring anyone to just give
[crossed out] us a reason
Can't make money on the poor, just kick them out the door, wipe off the
[crossed out] greed that's sweating out your pores
just make sure to cover their lesions
Caring only for yourself and nothing more, knowing full well what's instore
Doing what ever you're pleasing,
What I call mother nature-you [arrow pointing to 'call whore,']
we don't own the world,
we're only leasing.

Fare Well...
Never get to see another morning
Regretfully did not heed to any warning
with your "me" not I's you closed your eyes
while our world was burning
Now
Unable to rise, chastized and despised, Can't open your eyes [crossed out]
Praying there's no god
[crossed out]
You already know why [crossed out] no one's mourning
But the world keeps on turning

---

Rehab - day 2
WASTED TIME
When you feel that life has passed you by
Depression closes your eyes like sleeping
The thoughts of wasted time makes you cry
So you begin weeping
Bury your face deep down inside
The tears you spilled are seeping
Down below the earth
There is no sense in keeping
The pain built up inside
Off the bridge of sorrow you go leaping

---

[A hand-drawn checkmark inside a purple square]
REALITY
Reality check
- It's time to check -
Time to check your head again
Will you still be sitting
In that same old chair
On judgement day
Are you still gonna say
I could have went anywhere
But at the time I didn't care
There is no one who is invincible
It just goes against our principals
What wise men say
When it's their time to leave
Tell us they're going away
But they've planted seeds
That'll never wash away

---

HIT THE ROAD
You've heard about who I'm talking about
The type of people who the clouds follow around
No warnings of thunder and lightening
Trouble comes in a flash and doesn't make a sound
It's calm before the storm is what they say
Hey hit the road so I can hit the hay
I don't need you anymore
It's time to pay up
It's time to even the score

---

take a seat
Now's the time to get in line
Stand up now or get left behind
Just no telling when the bus will pass
Jump on board before they run outta gas
Walking up hills will tire your legs
Better choke the yellow chicken until she
stops laying those golden eggs

If you never see it will you ever do it?
I bet you wont
Hide in the shadows
Hide within the cracks
Hide because if they catch you
You're probably never coming back
Run when you hear footsteps
And don't forget to pull down the

And definately lock the door
You know that they been comin' 'round
here for days
and days
and days

---

The smoke from the fire soon disapaited
With the love and desire I anticipated
Deep down inside I know we could have made it.
I could have made you feel alive if only you waited
If only you waited

---

When the yellow sun is glowing
way way up high
You would never expect to see
Any stars up in the sky
But you know they're up there somewhere

You can see so clearly when all the lights are on
yet some
things that can only be seen in the dark
But on those cold lonely nights
while clinging to emptiness so tight
Often is when you feel the spark
You know love is inside you somewhere

---

I've been waiting for my baby
Longer than anyone should
The one who used to tell maybe
At least now I know she would

It took two long years
For her to finally come around
And As I hid my fears
I never made a sound

I just kept waiting while hoping
She'd tell me what I'd waited for her to say
When anyone asked me I'd say joking
That I think today may be the day

Imagine my surprise when it was real
When I'd say that day had finally come
So now I feel like the man of steel
And the only thing that can hurt me is a gun

2 aot Thoughts on life...
See-Saw
swing, swing, swing
see-saw
swing, swing
up then down
smile then frown
lefts and rights and wrongs
and thoughts then words
then poems then songs
sun up, sun set
fantasy and regret
heaven & hell
to know and tell
to say and do
to lie to be true
to fight and lose
to fight and win
to fight and call a truce
to end just to begin
to ride the see-saw
to fall off then try again
to hide the see saw
to love to sin

I just got off the phone with a girl, she still loves me,
I lost her fire but shes flown back to me,
she's the best I've seen, I wrote her a letter,
But we can't get together til I get better,
It is a slower process so I'll take it step by step,
That we'll find ourselves together is your safest bet,
I get lonely in the basement when you dream alone,
so many choices can rinse your life down the drain.
Behind door number one - could be an angel in disguise
Door number two - your biggest surprise
Behind door number three - filled with crooks and lies,
you're behind number four, I can see it in your eyes,
I should turn the key so you can showme the way.
If you cost money - then gladly I'll pay.
I've got to stop this livin goin day to day.
When everythings said and done this is the price I pay.
You gotta turn the next page, start over again,
sort out your acquaintances and weed out your friends.
It's hard to see when the smoke fills your eyes,
Hard to know whats right in a world full of lies.
pure
Through trial and error you'll find yourself, and
Discover the people who you cant live without
I've found them all and but one's been misplaced
She'd behind the floor I caught a glimpse of her face!
She cries "let me out" or let yourself in
I'd love to show her heaven and shield her from sin.
She might have to wait cause of the shape I'm in.
But once I get it together we'll be family again.

I am not a macho man
you know, I write poetry
I hang around with mostly women
Don't worry, it dont rub off on me
I am a guy
a real man's man
handy round the house
who can do it?
I can.

grow
I've come along, long way the last couple
of years
I've faught my share of deamons
until they finally disappeared
Finally as I look now the coast is clear
I know its time to start but I don't know where...
-to go
I don't know
-What to do?
I don't know
What type of seeds I'm gonna sew
I don't know
I just haven't gotta clue of what to do

I've penned a many sad, sad songs
And shed a few tears
I've had my share of lovers
who've all seemed to disappear
To Each one true to each one dear
But the burden of it all was too much to bear
For you know
I don't know
what to do
I don't know I just haven't got a clue
I'm still looking for the perfect hole in which my
But I don't know seeds can grow
That not just any old hole will do

So many things I long to tell you
So many words I've yet to say
And I know how much you hurt inside
But it gets a little better everyday
Where do you look to find salvation?
Is it of this world or on high?
Do you seek to escape starvation of the mind
Livin' in reality? Livin' in a lie?
A mind scatters, she blinks her eyes
Torn and tattered, to no one's surprize
Will it get better
Or unravel like a sweater?
Only one is to say
And she's day to day

Oh, someone free me from this misery

All dark and depressing thoughts fade away
I sense the voices but I can't hear a word they say
Yeah, I hit rock bottom - but that was yesterday
Evil thoughts, yeah I fought em, Now I'm livin in a brand new day
Now of course I still sing the blues
I still tell the stories but they're not my shoes
And though I might not win
At least how I know I'm not gonna lose
And I did it all by my self
Without any help from you
And now I've found someone else
Someone who'll see me through
I said hello to her
Once & said good bye to you

The words on this page
I spent a week inside an empty room
Just to see if I could take it
I built a house in the middle of the woods
Just to see if I could make it
I spent another week inside an empty room
Just to see if it would break me
I cut my arm only to watch it bleed
Just to see if anyone would take me

Just my luck right back here
Exactly where I didn't wanna be
Thought of my cross as too much to bear
If not for the nails then I'd be free
that
I would have thought religion
would have at least asked my name
Another outcasted pidgeon
who thought that only doves play the game

---

I JUST WANT to make my mark
Before I lose this spark
Before the room gets dank
and the game is over

Boy, I'd sure love to play again
Seems like such a waste, such a sin
ladies and gentle men - you're all my speci-
[ends], friends
Now we've got more left to discover

Joe Anna

I finally put a name to a face
And such a beautiful face it was
I've finally had an intelligent conversation
That not many lately have rose above

I've finally found someone worth talking to
I've finally found someone worth walking with
I usually settle for second best just to make doe
I was finally genuinely interested without faking it

Sitting here
Surrounded by so many
Yet I'm all by myself
The sky is clear

It's a nice day to go out
Looking out the window
wishing for a different scene

Tick Tock back and forth moves the clock
But Time it stands still on this here block
All the people here are doing the same as yesterday
They're satisfied with repetition and what a price they pay
There's a man stuck in the gutter with no hope of escape
And a maid in kitchen still cleaning the same old drapes
Have they ever given any thought to leaving this harsh land?
The feudal system has long since passed but they just don't understand
A man with two young children who'll be raised to take on his trade
With every step the torch is passed as their dreams they start to fade
And of course when they have kids the same will happen to them
One big wheel that keeps on turning on and on again
With every step taken forward there's two steps taken back
When the foundation of society is laid wrong you know its bound to crack
And when that time comes just maybe then all of this madness will cease
The people on this block will realize they were no freer than their dog on a leash

RAINING IN BOSTON
Staring into a darkened television screen
While my little black radio softly plays
The smoke floats up from my cigarette
Through a window with no curtains the sun hits my face

I've got to quit smoking
Because its kicking my ass
I've got to give up drinking
It's time to put down my glass

You learn to make up excuses
When you're raised in Boston, Mass
The teachers talk alot about history
And never forgetting your past

This abolitionist state always brags of being free
Since the RedSox had the last black player in
the American league
And the last year they knew of winning
Was way back in nineteen-eighteen

Cry baby cry cry over the spilled wine
Cry baby cry pretend everything's goin' fine

This is my team's theme song baby
So listen closely
So here ya go Billy here ya go Joey
Seems to suit both the highly & lowly
