MY EASTERN LOVE

As time crawls by and I stare above
I dream of you, my Eastern love
I see your eyes as I draw your face
You take me away to a better place
Where hatred is gone
It Has been erased
I live in your eyes
As I draw your face
I drink to your health
And as I raise my glass
I toast to the future and time
That has not yet passed
My Eastern love, the limit is the sky
The feelings I have for you
Could circle the world wide
My Eastern love, in the shadows you
hide
You've come all this way to be at my
Side

I know a man
This man I met
He says is this it?
As good as it gets?
Well sometimes you
Can't see so clear
I said "look around"
You can go
Any where from here
You can build your own mountains
You can part your own sea
Float upon the clouds
Turn off gravity
You can fight to make change
Or just let things be
You can unlock the doors
Because only you hold the key

We know the search is never easy
As you've found the bottom of your drink
though when your soul feels uneasy
Sometimes it makes you think

Would we be better
If we never considered ourselves brothers
Would our world be different
Had we never met each other

When in need of advice
Each other we seek
Yet the same hell goes on
Every week to week

Same old brand new day...
Same old story
We keep seeing ourselves
But the scenery gets boring

One hand washes the other
But the same goes when you're in the dirt
When all is said and gone you're still my brother
Even though we're the only ones getting hurt

---

(4)
We've both seen the worst that can happen
Even through what seemingly was the best of times
Celebrated many of nights
Written many a rhymes

It may in fact be hip to be square
Unfortunately the circle keeps its shape
We still got some years
But just how long will it take?

We never want to give up
On a family member taken in
But the question pops up
When you're surrounded by sin

False Gods I have never preached
By some higher power up there I truly beseech
Come to the aid of a couple fellows out of reach
Who's life's goal is goodness to teach

Giving to the takers
Take nothing from those who give
Do it long enough
You'll find your way to the bridge

A cheer full of beer
The same shake of the hand
But the older I get
The more I understand

Both born of different names
But I believe in family by choice
So why does my brother
Listen to the same little voice?

Hope is still ahead of me
When I'm by myself
But the tide turns around
When I'm by myself

The questions seem to hide
When the answers are known
Can I live the life I want with my brother
Or do I have to go it alone

Was that a flash of brilliance
Or just the lightning crashing
Do I want to know the answer
Or should I stop myself from asking?

It may be time to change your ways
When you can smell trouble whenever the wind

A phase can become a habit
Just as soon as you turn around
You can find yourself swept off your feet
Before they even touch the ground
But when you do come back to earth
You'll see still be seeing stars
Your picture taken and fingers painted
Spending your time behind bars

One day...
A boy met a girl
Well, actually a woman
And in time...
They started to create some history
After she learned a thing or two about
adolescent psychology
But the boy didn't teach it, he lived
but still was it
He had the love in side - playing hide and seek
Thus she was still out of reach
And After one too many apologies
He didn't turn the other cheek
He just shut the door thinking
this time there's no more FORGIVENESS
He once wrote her beautiful poetry
Until he stopped believing that their
"Love" had symmetry
And then she moved - overlooking
the cemetery
And I mean, that both metaphorically
Symbolically and physically
I could never [crossed out: exactly] put my
finger on exactly what it was
That she ever did to me
To ever cause me so much, pain
and misery
---
Funny how the girl you once adored
Could make you take the name in vain
Oh Lord!
One day pleasure...
the next there's pain
One day it's sunny...
the next there's rain
Just when you think you've struck treasure
you hit A watermain
Only when it's some one else is it funny
Just think of Monica's blue dress and the...

Another monday morning
Following a sleepless sunday night
Groggy tired and yawning
Seems to be the story of your life
it's amazing you can [?]
living off thirty hours of sleep a week
Tossing and turning staring at the ceiling
[?] counting sheep
Either that or else you were counting sheep
Many of us know how you're feeling
Living off thirty hours of sleep a week
Tossing and turning staring at the ceiling
Either that or else you were counting sheep
Living paycheck to paycheck
struggling just to pay rent
Tighten up your belt that hangs this [?] loose around your
Thursday night and an empty wallet
Wondering where it all went?
Two full time jobs barely keeps the expenses met
Just enough gas to get back and forth to your [?] job
A few walls and a simple roof above your head
Don't need a door with a lock
For you don't have anything valuable enough
to rob

Just what is wrong with me?
Maybe there is something wrong with us.
Find life in someone else
Living so vicarious-LY.
I took a minute to get away from myself
Decided to look through somebody else
Stared towards the street and the cars passing by
So many other souls maybe I'll give them a try
Looked at every car of every color
I soon discovered there were so many faces
Looked at all the people of every color
I soon discovered there were so many races
From my eyes I gave myself some advice
How can we be racist? It's the roll of the dice.
All the trees are green
I guess that's why they get along
So I'm just being me
That's why I sing this song
What else can you see?
You haven't seen all along
Hatred's only for the wicked
Eyes too [blurry/busy] colored to see
I'll tell them where to stick it
So if they ever come asking me!

Jensen 3

When the heat came down the next year, me and Cicotte, we were the first guys to admit what happened. I told the jury that I got paid the money but that I never made any intentional misplays, always batted to make a hit and always ran the bases to win. After all was said and done the jury only took three hours to find us not guilty. But the problem was that so many people were afraid of another fix that when Ban Johnson's three man commission changed to just one that Judge Landis wanted to make us an example to everybody else. The only wrongdoing I took part in was not telling Mr. Cominsky about the ring. And even though I set a record with 12 hits and hit .375 in the series and didn't make an error I was still banished from the game I love. I know for fact that if Mr. Cominsky rewarded us fairly for the year we had that no one on the team would have batted an eye no matter how much money the numbers runners were offering. Guys like Collins didn't need the money but what about guys like me busting my butt for peanuts.

I think that the Black Sox scandal represented America. There were more and more gamblers looking for a quick buck. There was fixing in every sport there was. The economy was getting better and people were trying to squeeze every penny they could. Everyone's life was getting better so people paid more attention to their past time and baseball was as popular as ever. I don't think that anyone was ready to admit that a game as sacred as baseball would

MAJOR BLUES
Hemingway and his time has been interfering with my time.
I've read so many books lately I do believe I'm going blind
Conrad may have a heart of darkness but my light is always on 'cause I always reading
And Lady Macbeth is not the only one who's hands are bleeding
So aren't mine from the pages I've been turning
seems like the symbolism in Hawthorne is all I be been learning.
This week I'm into Edgar Allen Poe
But what the raven said I still don't know
Somebody called so I said hello
Seemed to be the man they call Othello.
I've been hearing about revolutions,
Darwin's evolution and even Mrs. Warren's prostitution
Even my poetry is now dead to me
I've been handed my sentence with an apostrophe!
With Am Lit one and Am Lit two, Shakespeare
and even English Lit two I don't know what I'm gonna do.
It's always reading and writing
Very little time for socializing
I've been at it for three years
I don't know why it's still surprising
But with every paragraph I pass
I feel a part of me dying
I got a major case of the blues

can sometimes get by.
Without ever getting defeated.

But the above named

As those of us left
Are the ones who know when they need it

I only bluff at poker when the money's on the line
I only try to hide some of myself
When I'm running out of patience and time
And when it comes to loving someone
I'm not afraid to sell my soul blind

But only for the right one
Will I ever chop down my roots
But only for the night one
Will I ever risk my head inside a nice

The one thing about my world
The only trouble is that you never get out of it alie
She could be the only girl
For who I may put on hold All of the things to
which I strive

You learn all the time
With each new step you take
Though some like me may risk it all
Putting everything out on the line

Bright neon sighs
Separating as if day and night

Extremes rule My universe
Satan coming back

It has come, so I no longer wait
They set the trap
I took the bait
Out in the wilderness I have
Met my fate

After following tracks
After warding off their attacks
I have built my shelter
There's no turning back
I have looked @ the calender
But have yet to set a date
I've found the error of my ways
But realized it too late

My poetry is my dying word
Some may think that at twenty [two]
it sounds so absurd
But in my soul I know I'm fading fast
If I die right now I'd like
Something that lasts
I pray I'm not a sheep
Just following the herd

We've been best friends for years
And said all we can say
Figured we be at each's side
When it comes down to judgement day

We've had mud at our feet
And dirt in our eyes
But we've never even been once
Taken by surprise

We grabbed the world by the neck
Yet our fate still lies
As there is no me and you
In a world full of I's

Both one in the same
Even our circle of friends
Though neither places blame
When it comes down to the end

We know we been through the grinder
While we've been diving for pearls
Some day we'll each find her
That one special girl

Clenses my body and soul better than I thought
it would
Slowly I'm gaining control of a lost part of me
My broken pieces becoming whole they're soddered good
Staying here is my goal it's a better place to be

This is a true original
Just like the first smoke signal
But it's not a symbol of danger
Why should we be afraid of a stranger?

As we have grown
Time has told
As history unfolds
We're not here alone

Even difference unites
On the coldest of nights
We all need someone to keep us warm
As we all seek shelter from this storm

The words on this page
Every thing that was once important
Has since made an about face turn
Ideals and values which I once wrote down so proud
The paper which they were written on has
Caught a spark from some illumination
And I now watch them burn

I once heard a wise man say
The only certainty in life is change
Opinions drift with each passing day
Nothing ever remains exactly the same

This good life I lead
Along with my love for you
I may find I don't need
And it could die too
They

The high path road that I walk on may crumble
I could find my self among the trash cans in an alley
The mountains I climbed could be a volcano and rumble
For fear of explosion I may hide in the valley

The very place where I learned how to climb
The waving road I travel could bend
blind

I AM ALWAYS ALONE
But the conversation never ends
You can find me at my home
Chatting with my 49 online friends
I haven't seen the sunshine
Since my computer crashed
My friends used to invite me out
And now they know not to ask
I sit on a thousand dollar chair
Which I out bid for on EBAY
I probably spent a little too much
But they delivered it the very next day
I can type eighty words a minute
I can type and chew gum
I buy everything right from my chair
Spend my time waiting for it to come
I wake up and have my coffee in Japan
Lunch is south of the border down in Mexico
Not sure where I'm gonna have dinner
But online there's always someone to know

I searched for a paradise lost
Went looking for a pot of gold
Some things you think you get for free but there's still a cost
To be bought again only to be resold

I searched for what I sought to find
Found the fruit but couldn't get it off the vine
Climb and climb and climb and climb
I try and try but can't get it off my mind

Eden is nothing compared to what could be
To hell with the garden, with Eve and the fig leaf
I only believe in what I see
Let's get the garden going again
So I'm gonna go and plant my tree
Just don't mind me if I spill some seeds.
And lately bad thoughts have gotten the better of me
Vow to die for a cause and then I bend
Heaven on earth is the message that's sent

With a hundred dollars in my pocket
Love in my heart and my good name
I watched the Sun break through the clouds
And I began to feel happy again

I guess that's the power of mother nature
Good karma and strength of in one's soul
When all it takes is one happy moment
To remember who you are and regain self-control

Sure, the beer in my hand helped to lift
my spirits high
But it woulda brought out the worst in me
Had my life been based on the building upon
a series of lies

Yet when you search for eternal truths
And the essence of existence of it all
It's times like these when you know
that you will rise
When so many others would fall

Sometimes in the name of being selfish
You can find the greater good
As you understand your place in this world
things become as they should

Oh... won't you let me know? Will we be together?
Molly... I'd hold you forever and I'd never let you go
Molly... Can't you see?
You've become the only one
Who could ever be an anchor for me
Molly... without you I'd crumble
So surely I'd stumble with the first sign of trouble
And before long I know that I'd fall
Molly... you are what gives me strength
Beside my pretty paint
It's your picture inside the frame that I hang up on the wall
Molly... It's your face that the artists trace
To use as the template for when the sculptor creates

I came inside and knocked off my boots
Finally I shook off and kicked these winter time blues
Suffice to say it's all because of you
When you went away I needed something new
Something... that's been lying dormant and latent with me
to bring it out in me
Something... I've always had but needed another
Something... you shouldn't keep hidden but let it
out for all the world to see
Something... That which we call inner strength
and having faith in one's own ability
So Rather than going to you for help
I've began looking first towards myself
For Eric Burdon once told me
That everybody has got a story
And then he said, "Drink More water"
(that's some good advice... it could save you life)
I'm no longer scared or afraid
What's that phrase? No guts no glory?

I don't hide who I am
I'm not that kinda man... anymore
On what I don't know
I don't speak and think slow... for sure
The best place for a lie is in between two truths
Sometimes pretty eyes can blind you
And disguise what otherwise would suffice as proof

When one's identity
Seems to be seeded in the imitation of mediocrity
[crossed out text]
To be superior
To the inferior
Just make me avarage at best
And Most often even less

[Upside down at bottom left] UNWINNABLE by Tom Jonsen

[Main text]
Culture vultures circling the sky
Off our self doubt is what they thrive
It's either the daily dodge or else face the grind
Something finds you every time you hide

Given time and sobriety
You can reshape your reality
In this Kaleidoscope world
You can clearly see
Sometimes [redacted] you pay a hidden fee
On what ya thought was free

It's not all about material goods
[Redacted section]
Talking 'bout a man [redacted] alone in the [redacted] all woods
When noone is watching what does he do?
[Redacted section]
Are honor and integrity things that he holds true?
what one does to others
will some day be done to you
As the company you keep
will one day keep you

Given time and sobriety
You can reshape your reality
In this Kaleidoscope world
You can clearly see
Sometimes you pay a hidden fee
On what you thought was free

I bathed in dark energies
All the while absorbing light
Living in between two planes of existance
As [redacted] became my [redacted] morning
the day
And the morning my night
Wrong has always been wrong
But now it was all right

Healing takes time
To mend a broken mind
When the wounds cut deep
To all the way in side

As my luxuries have become necessities
I'm being slowly stripped of my spirituality
This lack of harmony within humanity
Has begun eating away at me

I can't decide if this is a side effect
Or the scheme behind the plan
I don't know where it's going
What I was or who I am

Positivity triggers mental agility
While negativity kills our ability
To forsee a future better than the present
As intuition tunes us in to what isn't evident

RUNNING FREE by tom jensen
Do you remember what you were
Before the world told you what you had to be?
Back in the haze of the days
A distant memory of running free
Then what happened to my mom and dad
It came call[?] for me
I ran for awhile and tried to hido
But you see eventually...
Race baiting wars are waiting
If you scoped up in the media spin
A tidal wave of Hate and Fear
Still the celebrities and sex keep you sucked in

Remember [?] everyone who smiles at you is

Sometimes it [?] reaches behind the eyes
another true intent
For one might say
It's not how you play the game
It's whether you win or lose
A Given time Everything will change
What you Red, Your black, your white, your blues
Yeah, that's what I said
So your destiny is yours to choose
[?] let too many voices in [?] your head
The one you lose belongs to you
It's alright to hide behind a lie
Yet if you dare share the truth
Hey baby, I'm your guy
Just one look into your eyes
Lacking fire - that's no surprise
[?] if you sought out the flame of love
What exactly do you think you'd find?
The reason I speak of
I think it's time you tried
Sometimes it seems that sir is short for serpent
And miss for misses and mistakes
When the realities of all your dreams
[?] but heart [?] break
Bring you nothing
And if this is the case
We can [?] track and retrace
But we can't go back and erase
So let us relax and embrace
the fact that haste makes waste

RUNNING FREE by tom Jensen
Do you remember what you were
Before the world told you what you had to be?
Back in the haze of the days
A distant memory of running free?
Then what happened to my mom and dad
It came calling for me
I ran for awhile and tried to hide
But you see eventually...
Race baiting wars are waiting
If you're scooped up in the media spin
A Tidal wave of hate and fear
Still the celebrities and sex keep you sucked in

EITHER WAY
by Tom Jensen
I'm a vessel of violence
Live alone on an island
I CAN NEVER KEEP SILENT
They keep playing violins
To cover everybody's crying
I got no one to hear me
No family lives near me
No friends close by
No friends at all that was a lie
No one to call or stop by
That's why sometimes I cry
You would to
When I got nothing to do
It gives me something to do
Many say medicate don't educate
Become an arsonist to your history
Self-knowledge just drags in complication
When somethings are best left a mystery
The agony of meeting expectations
Has led to the cancelling of many celebrations
In both your honor and your name
Yeah it was all for you - but you never came...
If you only die when you're forgotten
Anonymity must be rotten
The value of reality lies in immateriality
Everything that lives externally dies
Yet the value of life is measured by the soul
Which you know can be compromised
The choice is fame or integrity
Will you have riches or character?
that's what she said to me
Now you know why everyone's after her
She gives like its charity
With instant familiarity
A true gem that's a rarity
with brown eyes gazing back at me
Indeed she's looking so lovely
Feeling like there's no one above me
As she stares right through me
It's like she's always knew me
Let's hope she never forgets
Remember - you can't give somebody everything
Because then you'd have nothing left
Either way no regrets

CUTIE PIE
by tom jenser

Since a miss by an inch
Is as good as a mile
I'll die wearing hip dirty clothes
Opposed to clean ones out of style

You can tell as much about me from my eyes
As you can from my smile
I don't mind being hypnotized
By a cutie pie for awhile

I'll have you understand
I found my weakness as a man
Running my fingers through your hair
As your breathe became my air

Everytime I closed my eyes
You'd be there inside my eyelids
As your voice became my music
I'd hear piano, harp and violins

[crossed out: No longer]
No longer am I lonely
Our hearts are [crossed out: seased] solely
were joined
Even apart we're still together
From now until forever
