Refrain
Well the money's on the table...
My thoughts are down the drain
I'll stand [?] I am able
Or for as long as I can - yeah...

I've been holding on for dear life
Just as tightly as I can
[?] answering [?] questions truthfully

Being HIP
Only when the police came
Did the crowd finally disperse
because I'm a sign [?] person
As a matter of fact
I was got labelled then libelled
least wanted and world's worst
Of these facts I am quite certain
Who knows who's got the dirt on me?
The government [crossed out: [?]] and every other
institution..
They all wanna put a hurtin' on me
leg breaking Tony keeps bluntin' out:
"it's curtains for me"
As the godfather shouts:
[crossed out: [?]] the offer he made me
It sure sounds good-

Fences... I see more fences springing up everyday
There are people paid to separate people who are
fencing up to stand in the way
of the profits of the people who
create the media slaves, yeah
who dictates who gets to the side the riches
who gets to go diving with the fishes
And who gets to escape migrate and escape...

Fences... I see more fences springing up everyday
Forcing us to chose sides in this great divide
between the people and the state
This state of confusion, a perpetual illusion
of entertainment, sex, sports, and hate
I like me you want to get away
Want to find yourself some kind of inner wealth
A reason to carryon, my denestone, a reason to stay!!!

Fences... I see more fences springing up everyday
Seems [?] all those in line are blind the times
either wearing rose-colored glasses or the state
every letter of the
law
The trees are tall when you follow
[?] straight to the "7", and yet fundamentally
I disagree to fully appreciate the fact that fences
when used as defences are completely senseless
Especially when humans become turned into machines

I see power serving power
Serving power
I see snipers in the tower
I see faces of the crying
I see the truth [?] from people dying
I see walls heep getting higher
I see more hiddling on the fire
I see people losing faith

I... am the one telling you

They are... deceiving you
So they can get what they need
And we are the ones who [?] the price

WHAT DO
The weight of the world falls upon my shoulders
And I let it drag me down...
I feel shackled to this boulder
That I've been carrying around...

I see so many people who
still think just like you
I wish to erase and create a blank slate
And give 'em a good talking to...
What else can I do?

I see so many people
Losing faith in themselves
Never wondering if they could make
a difference
Instead they leave it to someone else

And that's the world we're living in
In this great state of divide
Now you know why I do what I do
Me and these friends of mine

The maid washes the floor
Feels the wind blow through the open door
She goes and vacuums the stairs
With the thought in her mind that life's not fair
Meanwhile
The mayor speaks at the parade
Of victory for the city's players
Who won the game on the big stage
Everyone celebrates with a smile on their face
The maid sweeps in the hall
With out much thought about how life evolved
Forgotten are the dreams she had as a child
And how the embers of hope they once ran wild
Meanwhile the mayor congratulates the winning team
Preaching about how hard work

Cigarettes look like pencils
So maybe we were taught to smoke
We were taught to trust all priests
That's when I first learned to joke
I got C's in Religion class
Because I taught myself to question
Some questions I was taught →
Never to ask without permission
But I was never given so
Some things I learned were never taught
Some things I learned to know
The hard way is the only way
You'll remember a lesson for good
Some things you can learn to fake it
Some things you would wished you could

BRIDGE
The invisible gap between sons and Fathers
Often seems like the Grand Canyon long
But the truth of why lies hidden
Beneath each others eyes
As we forget so conveniently
It is because of these men that we are born

Why do they seem so far away
with each breath we taky and
more and more every day that we live
Divided like the night and day
No one's ever crossed the bridge

Is the way too narrow
The Ropes too weak
Are the distance of a potential fall
Far too high to the bottom of the creek?

Is the fear of failure
Why so few have tried to get across
But in never knowing of the other side
So much is lost

I've never treaded water
Quite like this before
I've always been a swimmer
Who's kept at least one eye on the shore
Yet this time the current
I find it has carried me away
For now I float in open waters
{struck: with} a single light house left
To guide or help me find my way
It's an uneasy feeling...
To be out on the ocean alone
Such an uneasy feeling...
To finally be
So fully free
To drift, to wallow, to roam
Sure {struck: sometimes} I don't mind rolling with the tide
other times I don't mind leaving it all behind
Yet when the night air chills
Or my arms and legs grow tired
I begin to give in
To the more tender side of life
And the most basic human desires
I long {struck: to see} a candle in a window
To feel {struck: see the scent of a} {struck: soft glow freshly stoked} fire
{struck: New} spark brings new life
a fresh face like bright lights
a ghost town
Reborn {struck: and} thrives
As people follow
We start changing lives
As lives are changed
Perceptions {struck: too} are too
What started as one
soon grew to two
Two to three
Then three to four
As the people came
We'd make room for more

Green is the color of envy
It's not easy being green
You feel just like the bowl
That I just scraped and cleaned
Here's somethings all the rookies should know
On the ladder of drugs its the next wrong
Resin will really let you know
Who you are and should you your song be sung?
Oh- right below hash oil
Oh- the same as Mary, born in the same soil
Oh- different colored snakes wrapped in the same coil
Oh look out now, you may become loyal
It's a flame that never goes out
When it comes to town it's a heavy weight bout
If it's a baseball game it can always be a rout
Everyone cheering silently not something you'd want to shout
Got sticky fingers and a sticky 2 1/2 inch bright common nail
Now my pipe sparkles like a diamond on the ground
As a last resort it never fails
Always right in sight of my eyes
yet newly found

---

I wake up in the early morning just another day
Another day, the same routine, it always seems the same
Six days a week I'm not myself shackled by my chains
Although you left me yourself your memory still remains
Within my mind you're still with me as if nothing's changed
I try to stay with familiar faces while everything's rearranged
Monotony will drive you mad if you don't play pretend
Though we all play this game I think its time to end
Free and easy is the only way for me
Sometimes its better to just let it be
There are things in the world that'll drive you mad
I try to take the good with the bad
If you're like me you've worked so hard there's no time
left for fun
But when you stop and think there's nothing left to
do because every thing's been done
The hands of the clock are always moving, my feet always
on the run
A hamster on his wheel, a race never to be won
My free time left at the end of the day
A date with my books so i can get my A
This is my life most everyday
Things always stay the same
I endure the same old pain
With each new day I play their game
I am stressed and overwhelmed
My life's been deemed a living hell
I get up when I want to stay in bed
Try to live when I feel so dead.
Find the strength deep down inside
Life's a journey enjoy the ride
The steps are long going up the hill
You think it stops but it never will
Higher and higher the darker the sky
This circle continues and then you die

Something that'll get you thinking
Forget or Forgive a problem
Other than smoking and drinking
We know that's not gonna solve it
I don't have a drinking...

Empty lims are being filled
Sadam Hussein's oil is being spilled
Exon Valdez has hit a rock
Only time will tell if the leak will stop

Can't smell what the cook is rockin'
Noway to tell if this is ever stoppin
Go every day until the coffin is droppin

Every time the captain pulls up the
Ship hits the dock then
You find yourself upon the iceberg
Then find yourself the subject of movies

If there's money in the bank
Then evers thins is groovy

He loved her like I loved you
Only he would do what I couldn't do
Though she was far away she was in his heart
with love so strong the sea would part
chorus He is the man to whom I kneel
They were the two who's fate was sealed
wedding rings, souls bound so tight
Nothings wrong when the love is right
The young lady, I knew her well
But some peoples' heaven is another's hell
They were the two with hearts so entwined
But I still remember the day she used to be mine.
From jealousy and hatred I should be free
Yet I find myself thinking Howd she do this to me?
The day she left I knew she was right
So unexpected we didn't even fight
He is the man to whom I kneel
They were the two who's fate was sealed
wedding rings, souls bound so tight
They're in love so it must be night
I will recover, it'll take some time
chorus I set out searching for love that true
If my eyes don't deceive me I've found it in you
Take a chance to set me free
Erase my bleeding memory
Don't let me think he is better than me
Bring out a part of me that I dont see
When you said yes that part of me died
Now I've got nothing but love inside

On something about nothing
Maybe both?

I praise your name
Everyday...
But you're not jesus
No way

BASEMENT
Enlightenment is acknowledgement
Enlightening can be frightening
So much so that it frightens me
Sometimes seems just like lightening
You look through a telescope
Gazeing at the stars
They're stewing through a microscope
Looking at things in jars
Things in jars!
You got to face it
When you're in the basement
Time just wasted
You should be on the roof
With me!
With me!
"People look up to roofers"
I saw written on a sign
I hurt my neck
But now I'm fine
I'm fine!
I'm fine! Thanks for asking
But you'll never find me basking
In either glory or defeat
I try to anchor strong
So I won't get swept off my feet
My feet!

GAUGING TIME
Cracks upon the walls
Pacing up and down the halls
Walls are closing in
The end will now begin
Freedom stripped away
Today mirrors every other day
Time is growing old
And what a price we pay
You don't gauge time by a clock
Hanging on the wall
You cross out days on the calendar
that's hanging in the hall
The time you got in
That's not what it's about
It's the days you got left
Before they let you out

Reincarnation
Legs spread wide open
muscle contractions push me right out the door
Soaking wet and thrown into a cold world
Ready to start a new tour
groggy and crying
My eyes start to open
With my senses beginning to soar
I can't quite place it
Nor track or trace it
But something tells me I've been here before
There's no heaven or hell
As far as I can tell
Only new shapes and sizes
These different disguises
I've been a rich man, a poor man
A black man, a woman
A cat, a flea
A dog, a tree
All over the world
And Every century
I've fought to supress
And I've fought to free

Feel free to fall in love with my art
But just be careful when it comes to me and
my person...
I've spent my life running from broken hearts
Most of those i've loved have been left hurting
Did you think you were the exception to
the rule
Sorry, it looks like I played you, too
Don't you feel like a fool?
Sorry, for such and such
Sorry, for these things I never meant to do...
Honey, believe me this is true
Still i've done these things to you

This is why I try to stay to myself
I limit the pain infliction anyone else
Hiding safely behind this pane of glass
Where I can deny that I told you a lie
On the single most important question
that i've ever been asked:

Are you okay? Are you happy?
Well, of course I am! No... i'm not sad...

---

The man in the sky he blocks out the sun
Darkness is left and I see none
I knew he would come but I thought he would wait
too late
And for the people who ran it was already
You Never Know what kind of fruit

You Never Know just what your seeds
will bear
You Never Know exactly where it's
gonna go
You Never Know when it's all gonna
disappear
You Never Know
You Never Know
You Never Know

Man in the sky lookin' down
Man in the sky Man with a frown
Man in the sky look at a town
Man in the sky burn it down
burn it down
burn it down
You Never Know

---

I've heard of resurrections but I never believed it.
Back for Revenge of those who need to make amends.
There is no defense ladies and gentlemen!
Rules are bent by hands that can break
Fools are sent for and awakened for a wake

BRAVEHEART
Before you pledge your allegiance
You best know which side you're fighting for
For in this battle not everyone bleeds
There's no guns nor swords in this kind of war
This is the war for your soul, a battle of wills
In which your friend is your self, and bad advice kills
Who is your leader and by who are you led?
If this man is not a hero then you're better off dead
You need the strongest of convictions there's no changing sides
Needless to say you must choose wisely if you want to
Stay alive

The false prophets are many
In this world of masks
And you must answer quickly
When anybody asks
The killing fields are all around you
Need only to open your eyes
Many say but not many do
Speak in half truths if not bitter lies
What some will promise is great
Though few have the strength to fulfill
With every day the time grows late
And steeper is the hill
The choice rests on you still
As only you control your own fate
The trap they set will kill
But will you take the bait?

I am the voice
But of who?
Just who do I speak for
And do they even wish to be acknowledged

I am the man who you pass on the street
Just another shadow of a body you've yet [?] to meet

Yet I do have a voice

As well as desires such as you have

But I assure you my inside sparkles

And then maybe hanging in bathroom of some museum

I got high hopes
I hope I finally figure out what planet I'm on
I got high hopes
I hope I never have to work at a Seven Eleven
I got high hopes
I hope they'll play rock n' roll instead of Hymns
When I get to Heaven
Some people tell me that my standards
They're too high
You know some people mean to speak the truth
But wait a minute, that's a lie, oh me, oh my

Once they stop going to school
Still smoking cigarettes life KOOLS

I just got off the phone with a girl, she still loves me,
I bet her fire but shes flown back to me,
She's the best I've seen & wrote her in a letter,
But we can't get together til I get better.
It's a slow process so I take it step by step,
That will find ourselves together is your safest bet
It gets lonely in the basement when you dream to pair,
Too many choices can rinse your life down the drain.
Behind door number one - could be an angel in disguise
Door number two - your biggest suprise.
Behind door number three - filled with crooks and lies.
You're behind number four, I can see it in your eyes.
I should tell you so you can show me the way,
If the hell cost money then gladly i'll pay.
I've got to stop this livin goin day to day,
When everything said and done this is the price i pay.
You gotta turn the next page, start over again,
Sort out your acquaintances and weed out your friends.
It's hard to see when the smoke fills your eyes,
Hard to know whats pure in a world full of lies.
Through trial and error you'll find yourself, and
Discover the people who you cant live without
I've found them all but one's been misplaned,
She's behind the door I caught a glimpse of her face.
She cries "let me out" or let yourself in,
I'd love to show her heaven and shield her from sin.
She might have to wait 'cause of the shape I'm in.
But once I get it together we'll be family again.

See-Saw
swing, swing, swing
See-saw See-saw
swing, swing
Up then down
Lefts and rights
And rights and wrongs
then poems then songs
Sun up, sun set
Fantasy and regret
Heaven & Hell
To know and tell
To lie to be true
To fight and lose
To fight and win
To fight and call a truce
To end just to begin
To ride the see-saw
To fall off then try again
To hide the see saw
To love to sin

The words on this page
I've been waiting for my baby
Longer than anyone should
The one who used to tell maybe
At least now I knew she would

It took two long years
For her to finally come around
And As I hid my fears
I never made a sound

I just kept waiting while hoping
She'd tell me what I'd waited for her to say
When anyone asked me I'd say joking
That I think today may be the day

Imagine my surprise when it was real
When I'd say that day had finally come
So now I feel like the man of steel
And the only thing that can hurt me is a gun

grow

I've come along, long way the last couple
of years
I've fought my share of deamons
until they finally disappeared
Finally as I look now the coast seems clean
I know its time to start but I don't know where...
-to go
I don't know
-What to do?
I don't know
What type of seeds I'm gonna sew
I don't know
I just haven't gotta clue of what to do

I've penned 'a many sad, sad songs
And shed a few tears
I've had my share of lovers
who've all seemed to disappear
To each one true and one dear
But the burden of it all was too much to bare
For you Know
I don't know
What to do
I don't know I just haven't got a clue
I'm still looking for the perfect hole in which my
But I don't know seeds can grow
That not just any old hole will do
and that is true
---
A man wearing a yellow
shirt
He should have known better
Rain clouds over his parade
Be careful of the weather
Paid money to see the who
Trip cost a ticket to you know
who
Cops didn't ask
Questions
when he was arrested
Punched in the ribs
Wishing he was wearing a vest
Beaten to the ground
Now the state's guest

I've given up on feeding my addiction
Wash my hands clean from this filthy affliction
Look up at the sky to guide my direction
Why oh why do I even strive for perfection?

Get it up, get it out, put another on the shelf
Rip in and pull it out, another piece of your self
Show what so many others hide
In their sense of pride
Their tongues that lied
Their tongues so tied with a crossed look denied
KNOWING NOT BY WHICH WHAT THEY ABIDE... IN
GIN? SIN? KIN?
Where one man's rainbow ends another's begins
I've found mine, Never stop trying
Or else face regrets on the day of your dying

So many things I long to tell you
So many words I've yet to say
And I know how much you hurt inside
But it gets a little better everyday
Where do you look to find salvation?
Is it of this world or up on high?
Do you seek to escape starvation of the mind
Livin' in reality? Livin' in a lie?
A mind scatters, she blinks her eyes
Torn and tattered, to no one's surpize
Will it get better
Or unravel like a sweater?
Only one is to say
And she's day to day

Looks like tonight I won't be sleeping
But at least I'll still be dreaming
Maybe this time I won't be left weeping
For now I'll simply enjoy this feeling

Falling in love
All over again
[scribbled out text] Learning from all the mistakes
The mistakes I made in the past

Falling in love
All over gain
With the strangest feeling
That this time it could last

When I was young
I learned to walk
Only to learn how to crawl

When I was young
I learned to stand
Only to learn how to fall

And now that I've grown
I now know how to play the game
To win in the end
And now that I've grown
I become tamed -
I don't break but I bend

The captain of the ship's now hiding in the crows nest
while all his fellow sailors search for land
Busy Standing on deck with their maps in their hand
when youre looking for gold of course you go west

As it began to rain their vessel started to sway
All the sailors got nervous so they broke out the gin
And began praying to god to save them from sin
Shouting they'd give up their gold for just one more day

Then the sun abruptly broke and ended the showers
Lifted were their troubles - all twenty four tons
A face appeared saying youre safe now my sons
So god made the deal - All dead in twenty-four hours

So I wont scare the children
Imagine their little eyes
being taken in horror surprise
As they gaze on their window
Their pop's gonna make my

And my family's feelings
will be at hurting
just because I didnt shell out
three hundred pennies
He must on me for

I'm dead because I never

After you're dragged by a car

After you fall off the wagon
You're feet 'll be draggin'
After you're ran over by the train
You got no one to blame
After the plane's wing caught on fire
You ain't going any higher
After the subway doors close
You can't tell where it goes
After the escalator stops
You have to walk
After you break your ankle when you fall
You know it's time to crawl
After that happens well then you're stuck
You chaulk it up to just plain bad luck

Here I am
Back in my memory
THE OLD DAYS
Not knowing how it would be
Just a glimpse
Only the tip of your nail
Every scent was new
Now what's collecting dust
Is the only thing you can trust
Never knowing at the time
Thinking everything was fine
It damn near blew your mind
When they started treating you unkind
Only one thing you are left to find
Man is Man
Man is Man
Man is Man
Unlike Machine
Engines blow their top
But we get mean

Reality check
It's time to check -
Time to check your head again
Will you still be sitting
In that same old chair
On judgement day
Are you still gonna say
I could have went anywhere
But at the time I didn't care
There is no one who is invincible
It just goes against our principals
What wise men say
When it's their time to leave
Tell us they're going away
But they've planted seeds
That'll never wash away

MY EASTERN LOVE

As time crawls by and I stare above
I dream of you, my Eastern love
I see your eyes as I draw your face
You take me away to a better place
Where hatred is gone
It Has been erased
I live in your eyes
As I draw your face
I drink to your health
And as I raise my glass
I toast to the future and time
That has not yet passed
My Eastern love, the limit is the sky
The feelings I have for you
Could circle the world wide
My Eastern love, in the shadows you
hide
You've come all this way to be at my
Side
