TOAST
While it lasted
It sure was fun
But now...
Look out Hooverville!
'Cause here I come..
living in a commune
Sharing this shack of mine
With a fellow tortured soul
That I met in the bread line
His loaf was too crusty
while mine three days stale
Still the time was a pleasant one
Despite what you'll call 'our meal'
Once we feasted on pheasant
And perhaps a glass or two of champagne
Toasted as the sun was setting
Now a toast: "Shall it shine on again"
While it lasted
It sure was fun
But now..
Look out Hooverville!
'Cause here I come...

FRIENDS AND COUNTRYMEN
"So anyone who rebels against authority
is rebelling against what God has
instituted, and they will be punished!"
Romans: Thirteen, two...
Just one of those things that religion can do
E nslave a race
While still keeping your faith
"Hey, I was just doing what I was told to [crossed out word]
[crossed out word] I suggest you do [crossed out word] too
My priceless advice so should you
(GARDEN of Flowers P.S)
Whether or not to serve power
To go pulling up weeds
In this garden of flowers
Or be like everyone else
and when it time to work
Go run off and play
leave it for another day... another day...
another day... another day
Romans: Thirteen, two...
Is our get of jail free card
That God gaveeth to me and you
Romans: Thirteen, two...
Helps keep the status quo here at the zoo

Who doesn't have two ways to tell their story?
Yeah, one's okay... but [at] times it tends to get
too tedious, monotonous, long-winded, tiresome and plain old
redundant, and stale, boring...
Oh, but the second one is great because the
glorified saint with the background of a
legendary hero
All the children chant your name
As the soldiers proudly proclaim:
If they die for you 'tis not in vain
You who can hold power yet yield restraint
Yet there's no tone 'tis all black and white
not even gray
No imagination of a world of colors
no blending
No vairience, no vibrance or shades
I'd rather be me and be boring
Than be him with all his cutout cardboard
subjects the
Same
Yeah, that's not exactly what I'd call glory
Actually to me, it sounds pretty lame
