SUPER STAR by B.R.

This jam gonna spit it as fast as I Can - like Eminem...
Hope you can understand and comprehend that I fuck like a rabbit
fly like a maggot I see something shiny I just go and grab it
'cause I just gotta have it I know its a bad habbit and I look like a priest
but at least... wait, freeze, go back... did that but have one
or two "t's"? Oh boy! Almost lost my train of thought - it's filled
with pot - if it didn't have tracks I'd have forgot where I parked.
Oh yeah in the parking lot.
As I drive a bright white car at night with lights that red/black [?]
Then I'd
say "Hey, HAVE A NICE day"
(AND WAVE)
'SUPERSTAR'

SOUL BAY

WHEN I WAS FIVE
My mother taught me how to lie when I was five
When I turn six I could get in and out of any fix
With just my tongue's tip in the blink of an eye
I'm telling the truth when I tell you that right on cue
I could make myself cry anywhere and anytime

Don't you know who I am?
I'm a very important man
Can't you tell with just your eyes
By this matching suit and tie
And these shoes and these socks
That I get paid by the pound
For getting bullshit to walk

[Circled 2]

[Circled 1]

(Never forgotten P.25)
I open the window
But I'm only looking out at the street
I think that I can see victory
Gotten used to the stench of
defeat

[Circled 4]

LOSING SIGHT
yeah, year after year
I've been losing sight of the light
And losing my will to fight
It's this seemingly endless monotony
That lately has been killing me
This is easily the longest day of my life

CANDY RAPPER SUPERSTAR
By Brian Rainstorm
-first toast to
This jam
Gonna spit it out of my mouth
As fast as I can
Like tries a peanut Eminem
Or L.M.N.O.P.
Hope you can understand
And comprehend clearly...
Them yelling:

"Watch your spelling and auto-
correcting!"
Or next under sex they'll be
questioning...
Over-messaging-and-texting and messaging
Did n't I try a guy like a faggot?

I'll reply:

Hey, I see something shinny
So I go and grab it
'Cause I just gotta have it
I know it's a bad habbit

Since I look like I lie
Like a Persian rug,
Judas and a priest
All rolled into one

But at least...
Wait, freeze, go back...
Did that 'but' have a crack? I mean...
One or two t's?
Oh boy!

Since my train of thought
Is fried, a win pot
If it didn't have tracks
I'd get lost a lot

Then I'd have forgot
Where I parked...
Oh yeah, over there
In the parking lot
Here's where I get off
(Haha)

Then I'd say:
"Hey, have a nice day"
(and wave..." that same fake smile on
my face)

As I'd drive away
In a big, bright white car
With out-of-state plates
With black lights
That at night read:
"Candy Rapper Superstar"
(ha ha ha!)

John Lennon was right...
And right you are!

Deep down you knew it
Anyone can do it...
Be a candy rapper superstar

Um... triple dipple
my nipples..
double
Lingle
Let's mingle!
That was the end
Right before the um...

TANGLED AFFAIR By Brian Rainstorm (5/27/2017)

I did my chicken dance
In the middle of the road
I thought I'd take a chance
I said, "Here we go..."

I finally crossed the street
And I made it on my feet
No gettin' squashed like a toad
I got as high as deep fried
In the sky I'd float...

Oh, but coming down
It's such a turn around
When tied wings can't fly
It hurts to hit the ground
That makes is hard to cope...

Like a ball of yarn and a kitten
With a grandma knittin' mittens
Quickly it becomes a tangled affair

You know you were doing something
Then suddenly all of time disappeared...

Nah, now you can't say you really miss it
Since your blown baby batter
Has grown to become a biscuit...

So now what else matters?
If you think it's only what you own...
The point is this:
You'll never even know you missed it

Don't want on my deathbed
To show sorrow
Once they've taken away
My last tomorrow

As the final drop of blood
Removed from the last vessel
Body's just another piece of trash
Tossed in God's trash receptacle...

I'll kill you in the name of YOUR religion!
I'm going to war?
What are we fighting for?
I'll pretend it was my own decision, Yesh!

I pay taxes for schools
and tolls for roads
They give my money to the Jews
For what? God knows

You got drafted by coach Zelensky
When you don't wanna play
For a QB who throws hospital passes
All your teammates get carried away!

Who else do we give money to
To fight foreign wars?
Whuddya think the book 'Blowback'
By Chalmers Johnson is for???

Gift it don't burn it
Or you will have to relearn it
History is calling
More buildings will be falling....

(1) KAYFABE song 56
Well I don't have kids I have a cat
The world isn't round and it isn't flat
It's titled, it's warped and crooked as hell
Manufacturing isn't gone... It's you who they sell!

Politics is just kayfabe on T.V.
Where it's all one big show - a show for me!
They give me a vote
Choice A or choice B
But the difference 'tween 'em both
Can be hard to see

I asked for change
And what'd they say?
So didn't Charlie Kirk
And JFK....

i see cameras on the polls
i think donald trump knows

GROOVE BACK II SONG 55
I don't wanna know about my heroes...
The same way I don't wanna know if my doctor drinks
Being who you are has gotten you this far
But you've stalled and hit a wall
My guy... what are you doing to yourself?
Didn't you used to be someone else?

I'm trying to get my groove back
(Groove back)
And prove that
(Prove that)
The haters were wrong
I'm trying to write a new refrain
where I show restraint
and not lose from where I came
you know
same old shit, same old song!
Probably can't when any fool could challenge you to a
duel
best tool is the golden rule

[Right sheet]
FOUR PILLS A DAY
I take four pills a day
Because I'm a slut... yeah!
One of those pill
Sidafidil... helps get it up... so I can fuck
Or erupt after I get sucked!

One pills saves the day
So I can get AIDS
I would never do the touch your toes forbidden act with some poophole dancer
If I couldn't keep it hidden and not get gay cancer and that's a fact!
So I got three apps for draining my sap that's how I'm livin'!

I take two pills after unprotected sex
Or getting neck along with the Prep
Called doxypep!
Reduce the risk of syphilis,
chlamydia and gonorrhea
Cause I don't know where that cum dump been
And you don't NEITHER!!!

[Top left corner, handwritten in pencil]
while you are day dreaming about the stars
I am trying to find a way to worry you!

SONG NUMBER 3 (798, 14f of 30)
KILL THE SEED
They say to go in the news
Don't you dare to fly in the sky
There was a giant shadow through the water
Slow tickling glowing drones that fly
A dead summer is a new sharp paragraph
You all signed but died dead
A technology is bringing us backwards
Save the chef and kill the seed
A crazy man wanting to to Mars
When I just want to go to California

SONG NUMBER 4 (798, 15 of 30)
THINKING GETS RISKY
I'm quadrupling my chances on this friday night...
I've decided to fuck any and every thing in sight
Be it woman or man, boy or girl
Someone's getting this out like a muthafuchin'squirm!
That's why I don't drink
'Cause my thinking gets risky
Give me the pink AND the stink
When I get drinking my whiskey
If there's grass on the field
Well, I'm willing to play ball
And if you're looking to kneel
You know I'm down for it ALL!
Call up your whore friend who you said likes to puss out
I'll fuck her fat ass while your dick's in my mouth!
We can each take turns and then all switch places
Get sweaty and cream all over our faces!
That's why I don't drink
'Cause my thinking gets risky
While I die all liquored up
Yeah, start feeling frisky
Round homeless people up
Start drinking their pee
I'll fuck her fat ass and milk the stump
Gives a good peggin to me!
Yeah, pass me the bottle
And then pass me around
I've met lots of nice friends
In the meth part of town!
That's why I don't drink
'Cause my thinking gets risky
I'll spit on a hot girl cop
Just to get a free frisky
My friends try to tell me, Seems I never listen
Just seem to end up, With another FWB from the prison...

SONG NUMBER 5 (791, 15 of 30)
MY FAN FICTION
She was more than a world away
Yet this dream I could not shake
Taking up the best time she had
Shouldn't have done that now looking back
Sometimes you can end the world
With just your good intentions
I needed more than refinement
I needed reinvention
Always driven by passion
Maybe more an addiction?
Why not self-improvement I'm now asking
I was trying to make fact this fan fiction, yeah!
I tried to find the perfect girl
Inside of this imperfect world
As I sit and trace my greatest mistakes
My last decade alone - give or take
I Lost a girl I never had
On two planes I had to come back
I was more numb than I was sad
Crawling back home to my two cats
I been trying to hide from my mind...
but there's no escape
I been thinking about the one that got away...
every single Fucking day
Then I lied to myself
ed to actually believe
now I stopped playing,
ah, I don't even dream
om the here and now
s two worlds away
her side
at better place...

SONG NUMBER 6 (792, 15 of 30)
ME AND TOM CRUISE
Bitch don't even know my first name
Still gave the kid luck just the same
There's a few guys we get to fuck anyone that they choose:
Luke Denist, Collin Jus, Brad Pitt, Me and Tom Cruise, yeah
Then you got those nerdy guys who all had to get rich
To have any luck with the chicks with those little dick' esw
Gars, Bens and Zack and that other Fucking Muck
They're all just stuck together at lunch
Mad plotting against the world openly wishing me dead
So all the good things I had they could have instead
A quarter corner later it's all crumbling down
Well they run the world they're making leaving town
Yeah, but I'm no on my own
There's a few of us who

SONG NUMBER 7 (753, 15 of 30)
WALLFLOWER POOP
Gonna take a poop in the night
Hope it's gonna flush right
Doesn't matter who clogged the bowl
You got a wide asshole
One, two, three swipes... a poop knife
Shit drips splattered 'neath the seat
Somebody gonna have to clean up

SONG NUMBER 9 (795, 15 of 30)
LICK MY TOES HO
Those lick my toes hoes blow more than ya nose...
She was a belly down town lick my toe ho!
The kind that you find by the side of the road, yo
That crystal is lit goes right on her nose, ho
Yeah, give that bitch an inch and she never let go, no!
There's a felon in the house
Second time around
You can say she's got a type
No, they don't stick around
And mommy's little girl
On the menu tonight
Better not fall asleep...
Best to put up a fight...
Those lick my toes hoes blow more than ya nose...
Be lining up the bros in rows and rows
With toxic cocks exposed
that gonna show and grow
And grow and grow and grow and grow
And grow and explode!
ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
She was a belly down pound town lick my toe ho!
The kind inclined to give you all a go
If y'all got enough dough
She'll go down slow and be gettin' low, low, low, low

SONG NUMBER 1 (787, 14f of 30)
TONY'S SONG
I said weasel, let's talk
About our favorite three letters
(USA)
As free men, we walk
But only if they let us
(yeah, yeah)
Down the road we go
Knowing well some of us won't return...
(No)
Yeah, another thing we know
We've been watching this slow, slow burn...
(slow)
We're burning, burning, watching our dreams go up in flames,
Looking for a reason not to treason, but the reason never came.
Caught between the future and the mess we're in today
Trying to get in, get out, trying to get it before it gets away...
The fire keeps getting hotter
But now I got a daughter
It's up to me to teach her what she learns
Yeah, I've got to find a way to cope
When I know I'm losing hope
And I'm gonna hit that point of no return!
Chorus:
We're burning, burning, watching our dreams go up in flames,
Looking for a reason not to treason, but the reason never came.
Caught between the future and the mess we're in today
Trying to get in, get out, trying to get it before it gets away...
There's about a million people in the world
Who are better than all the rest
To have any more than that
Is really superfluous

SONG NUMBER 10 (796, 15f of 30)
READING I BROW
I think I might be bi...
I'm gonna go blow a guy...
Maybe three or even four
Look at me, I'm such a whore!
I will suck... almost anyone
Old or young, small or hung
Curved or straight both taste great!
Black and brown I go right down
yellow or white I won't bite!
Pants are down dicks are up
When I'm in town ya'll erupt
(original lyrics)
Butterfly in the sky
I can go twice as high
Take a look, it's in a book,
A Reading Rainbow!
I can go anywhere
Friends to know, and ways to grow
A Reading Rainbow!
I can be anything
Take a look, it's in a book
A Reading Rainbow
Reading Rainbow!

SONG NUMBER 12 (798, 15b of 30)
RISK GENES
I got that bad seed in my blood
Don't have kids because they'd be fucked up...
With risk genes running
up and down the whole family tree
I'm not only fighting my environment
I'm fighting me...
Fighting history
Fighting insanity
It's no mystery
What a calamity
I only got one friend
not gone or dead
Yeah, check back
inside my head
Because of my fears
I'm still here
Yeah, check back
in another year
I take bus stop candy
from strange old men
I like to visit the sauna
every now and again
Glory holes....
well glory be
Twinks, trans and hung
My chosen trinity, Yeah!!!

SONG NUMBER 2 (798, 14b of 30)
LOVE AND MY HAND
I met a girl with a rub
at the pen's club
Looked into her blue eyes
As I put both my hands on her thighs...
Knowing she could only push one away
I knew that love and my hand were here to stay
Love and my hand...
Love and my hand...
Loving my hand...
Now shes also in love
We got a baby in the oven
All of a sudden
We got another little rubbin
Another little rub...
Another little rub...
Yeah, that is hammered
Yeah I love to eat cake
So I keep on baking
But I keep having kids
Whose hands are taken
Love and my hand
Another little rub
I'll have you understand
You both can share a pair of gloves, yeah, alright...
PREMISE is I keep having kids whose hands are missing. We all do one-handed activity
maybe bug to be pegged?

SONG NUMBER 12 (798, 12b of 30)
WHEN YOU'RE HAMMERED
I can't have you go home, please...
'Cause you're hammered!
You test or call
could ruin it all...
'Cause you were hammered!
Yeah, that fat, fine sister
Turns out to be a fixer...
'Cause you were hammered!
You are too busy eating...
Wait notice you were bleeding...
'Cause you were hammered!
You just HAD to touch her chest
But that's a felony arrest...
'Cause you were hammered!
You just peed your pants warm
Like a stupid unicorn...
'Cause you were hammered!
In jail you spent the night
'Cause that cop you wanted to fight...
'Cause you were hammered!
Your girlfriend slapped you in the face
The two of you got sprayed with mace...
Because you were both hammered!

SONG 67 CATCH A STRAY
Don't tell me to stay.
You seem leaving.
You have a good day.
We're fucking even.
Don't tell me to stay.
You see me leaving.
You have a good day.
We're fucking even.
These games I don't play.
All this deceiving.
You have a good day.
You see me leaving.
It's just me and the cat.
I don't trust anyone else.
Yeah, you drove me to that.
That would be an improvement.
Hating myself...
NOT HANGING myself!
(This picture of Jeffery -
It didn't hang itself!)
It's just me and the cat.
everyone else chose the gun.
And learning Hebrew,
I admit it's not that fun.

RECKLESS GIRLS
Nailing girls is reckless.
Something always comes up, you know?
I'll come you a whole pearl necklace.

Fuck them shits and cucks!

I taught your wife jujitsu,
Who knew, who knew?
I taught you wife jujitsu, who knew?
Straight head first,
down the slip and slide.
with all that baby oil, she glides and glides
and glides and glides and glides and glides
and glides and glides and glides and glides
and glides!
She glides.
When chasing after her
still holding my broom,
how does she break out of my Diddy room?
Head first, straight straight head first
down the slip and slide
with all that baby oil.
She glides and glides and glides and glides and glides.
She glides,

KILL THE SEED
Don't go in the ocean
Don't you dare try to fly in the sky
There are sharks beneath the dark water
Above fucking glowing drones that fly

There's bugs in all our devices
And roaches in the pot, yes
Messages that are subliminal
Are now entering our heads!

A death sentence is now thirty paragraphs
We all signed but didn't read

The words on this page
wilted rose
UNTITLED
On the table - a twelve inch blade
As night creeps in as black as spades
Would it really matter, one slip of the knife?
Would anyone notice, a worthless life?
Her inner voice has let her down
Left alone with no one around
With all the pain built up inside
Now discovered with nowhere to hide

From some pains you can never run away
Though sometimes forgotten, the scars will always stay
For sometimes there's no escape
And all it takes is a simple mistake
To burn down the mansion you built
And to knock the clown off his stilts
She lies on the floor, last thoughts so guilted
Clutching a rose now fallen wilted

Inspired by a passing thought of last night's World Lit 1 class when we watched
the movie Edipus Rex. I was thinking how his mother/wife killed herself. The
similarities stop there, though. It has a little understating in it too. The wilted rose
shows she died yet I did not mention it - it is assumed. Later I may add another
stanza or two but I kinda like it. I couldn't think of a title though.

FALSE AL

Monkey

Maids in the morning sweeping up broken glass
Long left dreams of a shattered past
Golden cup full of life spilled to the floor
A man who once had riches now lives poor
Some men live long and some die young
Some carry heavy burdens, some carry none
When you shadow box you sometimes bruise
When you fight yourself sometimes you lose
Walking down the spiral staircase that is my mind
Passing all the memories that I've left behind
If you see the same things enough it can make you blind
Be careful of what doors you open and what you'll find
Some patterns are so hard to break that they end up breaking you
Anyone who's ever worn these shoes knows that this is true
All by myself is where I found myself
I looked around and saw no one else
Pleasure that was promised evolved into pain
The sun changed to clouds then turned to rain
It was as if my clock had stopped and every day remained the same
As if all the roosters died and the man in the moon he never came
A man in the cemetery digging his own grave
A man thrown overboard with no chance of being saved
Just like a speeding train with no track ahead
Playing Russian roulette with the chamber full of lead
Going down a one way street the wrong way
No planning for a future, living day to day
I was trapped in quicksand and started sinking
My life stood on the brink and I started thinking
I must be going crazy I must be losing my mind
I better get it together or I'll die before my time
So much I have yet so much I've thrown away
Can't wait until tomorrow as everything begins today
Yesterday is gone but the memories remain
The road leads uphill but I know I will sustain

MAYBE SOMEDAY

Maybe someday my wounds will mend
Maybe someday their laws will bend
Darkness has slowly become my best friend
Been trying everything but this feeling won't end
Confusion is my brother, I'm the son of desperation
Lost is my desire and I'm still searching for motivation
I've put everything off until the end of time
My friends think they're psychics trying to read my mind
I tell 'em you can't read blank paper with only blue lines
The traffic lights are red and stop reads every sign
I only see things blurily, no better than the blind
People ask how I'm doing and of course I tell 'em I'm doing fine
I want to scream at them even though they're being kind
I wish I could tell them the truth but I just don't feel inclined

Every morning I wake up and I pray I can stay in bed
Sleep is so peaceful and so good for the head
I got to think positive - that's what the doctor said
The best I can do is that soon I'll be dead
When I told Dr. Kevorkian he didn't wanna see me no more
He shook my hand as he kicked me out the door

Now I'm sitting on the corner with my coffee and cigarette in my hand
A lady passing by threw change in my cup and said "Sorry kid but I unde
So I drank my coffee and almost choked on a dime
I imagine I'll be feeling like this until the end of time

Just then I saw a beautiful girl and I took her by the hand
I said "Please come with me away from this harsh land"
But she must be foreign for she didn't understand
Why is it, life never turns out the way you planned?

I bought a newspaper because I needed some good news
Took one look at the cover and kept singin' the blues
All this mayhem and murder just made me feel even worse
Five men died in an car accident including the driver of a hurst

FALSE ALARM

I just felt it - a revelation
From a higher power, a new sensation
Did you feel it? Small vibrations?
A complete focus of concentration
Feelin' dizzy - head is spinnin'
Could this be it? A new beginning?
Not sure why I'm feeling this way
Oh God, please don't take me away
Hear a lost voice in my ear
Try to listen, words aren't clear
Wish I new what it was saying
Almost time to start my praying
Heard something outside rather frightening
Thought it was someone throwing lightening
I just had a heart attack
But my religion gave me back
He decided not to take me away
Down beneath the earth where the devils play
I had the shivers or was it the shakes?
Just one more chance and I'll do what it takes
I got the problem and you the cure
I'm so unstable and you're so secure
Did you get the better of me?
I look around but no angels I see
Do I have time for one final plea?
A final cigarette and a hot cup of tea?
( loud thunder and lightening- I wake up screaming)
Thank my lucky stars it was just a false alarm
I was never really in danger, far away from harm
Must say I'll sleep good tonight
Just one favor...can you leave on the light?

Another one hit wonder?

Just heard such a laim band it makes me wanna write
If I saw them on th streets they'd ask me for my autograph, right?
Wasting up my time with some made up catch phrase
If they got in my mind they'd be trapped in a maze
It takes more to be an artist than having a cute blonde in the band
I wouldn't say nothing but its been gettin outta hand
Sexy says kiss me and I'm thinking outta my head
If I'm her biggest fan then maybe she'll crawl into bed

Another one hit wonder, another one bites the dust
Another one hit wonder, another one collecting dust

Buy the record - see some skin
Another record - do it again
If you want reality then you're better off listening to me
Hopefully I'll be here for awhile before they carry me off to sea
When you're looking fo information you know I'm your safest bet
In this world of uncertainty you take what you can get
They say the easy way is living life out on the run
I knew a man who did it and he said it ain't no fun
It don't even matter if you're number one or on the bottom of the pile
Sometimes everybody, everywhere has to walk that extra mile

I'm not a one hit wonder I got more than 15 minutes of fame
I don't play chess and I'm not a pawn in their game
After I'm gone you'll remember my name
Spending sixty bucks on my box set I know that sounds pretty laim
I'll lower it to 15 if to my funeral you came

A man down the street you know he doesn't trust a soul
He never heard of a diamond coming from a piece of coal
I once had a girl who became a part of me
But after my body rejected her I had to set her free
Sometimes I smile the rest all I do is frown
Everytime I'm high something brings me down
There's a girl who I've just met who I'd really like to know
But she's busy 23 hours a day and there's no place for us to go
---
DOWNS ANDS UPS
Stress level going up
Self-esteem going down
Tons of work piling up
Stacks of papers falling down
Not much patience I have left
What is happening just isn't right
I'm starting to hate everything
And people who think I'm nothing
Everything I do is wrong
Every mistake I can't correct
In the game of life I surely lose
Anger screams let me out
Peace whispers let me in
Even the art of making love
To some considered a sin
My life's so dull
What's the point
Just what's the use in trying to stand
Like leaves on trees I'm bound to fall
It's just so difficult to stand so tall
Maybe in my years I'm getting soft
But this life I lead is much too hard
I try to sleep then toss and turn at night
So busy worrying about each coming day
There's no way I'll ever make it through I think
There's no telling the future is what they say
Maybe some day I'll get ahead
And leave all these troubles behind
A case of the blues and bad luck I'd lose
Under some rainbow a pot of gold I'd find
I'd be so gay - you know what I mean
If only this world would be so kind
---
WITH HER I'LL MAKE IT

I've wrote too many sad,sad songs
About how the love we had was once so strong
Trying to remember where we went wrong
I need you back its already been too long
I'm coming to find you so please don't hide
If only you knew how bad I hurt inside
Open your heart again please swallow your pride
I tried to convice myself I didn't need you but I knew I lied
When you left my better half died
Even though I'm a man I too will swallow my pride
If you lay down the law I'll promise to abide
For I know I wasn't right I just had my priorities confused
And even though I hurt you we've both been abused
I got off the phone with you and I know you still love me
I had to set you free but you've flown back to me
You're the best I've seen I wrote you in a letter
But I know we can't get back together until I get better
Its such a slow process that I'll take it step by step
We'll find ourselves together is your safest bet
The heart gets lonely when dreams turn to pain
All of life's choices can rinse your life down the drain
Behind door number one- the devil in disguise
Door number two- your biggest surprise
Behind door number three- its filled with crooks and lies
But you're behind four- I can tell it in your eyes
I'll turn the key and let you show me the way
And if that key costs money then gladly I'll pay
I've got to stop this livin' day to day
When everything's said and done this is the price I have to pay
I'll turn the page and start over again
Sort out my aquaintences and weed out my friends
Sometimes it's hard to see things stright when smoke gets in your eyes
You never know what's pure in this world full of lies
Through trial and error I find myself
And discover those that I can't live without

ODE TO JASON (A FALLEN HERO)
This is a story about a boy who's dog ran away
Jason set out to find a loved one - no matter what the cost
But as the dog came home the little boy became lost
When you're a fourth grader finding a dog is no easy task
Should you risk your life for a pet? It depends on who you ask
The fact that Jason said yes should come as no surprise
He loved that dog to pieces you could see it in his eyes
Little Jason was a hero so he set out through the snow
It saddens my heart deeply to tell his tale of woe
What a brave little soul, right up until the end
What a brave little soul to go search for his friend
A little bit of inspiration is what he left behind
He listened to his heart, paid no attention to his mind
The last thought that filled his head - his dog would do the same for him
The saddest of it all and the reason why we cried
If not for the heart of an angel he never would have died
When you think of him in memory try to wipe away your tears
And remember him for what he was which is wise beyond his years

This poem was a true story about a year ago. I saw it on the news and got
inspired. I wrote a little of this poem about a year ago but never finished it - now
its done. It's sad as hell but offers some inspiration. It's one of my favorites.

A Hard Rain's Gonna Fall

The smoke from a half lit cigarette waves aimlessly through the air. A light brown guitar sits in the corner awaiting the delicate touch of its master. Three empty notebooks sit atop the table curiously wondering what will fill their blank pages. Will there be small sketches of beautiful young women or perhaps some silly verses about how everybody must get stoned? An old weathered, green chair, still feeling the pain of a dropped cigarette, reminices about the time it's owner, the master, once sat for what seemed like an eternity trying to capture the soul of a man named Hollis Brown. An old, rusty razor lays, forgotten, in a corner clutching on to one last piece of cocaine. A broken guitar string sits beneath a pile of trash still humming the melody of what it prays comes true in "Forever Young", and in the state of mind that it will never be thrown away.

A familiar face appears from behind a closed door. All of the objects in the room experience a buzz of excitement. Perhaps one of them will receive their master's attention, if even only for an instant. The master sits upon the green chair and sighs. "Must be another sad love song", the chair thinks to itself. The razor, on the other hand says, "I think he's angry at the world, I hope he's not as angry as that 'Masters of war' song...You know, the one that goes:

And I hope that you die
And you're death'll come soon
I will follow your casket
In the pale afternoon
And I'll watch while you're lowered
Down to your deathbed
And I'll stand o'er your grave
'Til I'm sure that you're dead

The master grabs the yellow notebook and begins jotting down a few lines. The guitar waits patiently, for it knows that the master always uses him and the notebook together. As plain as bread and butter and as sweet as peanut butter and jelly. After a little while, just like clockwork, the notebook is set aside and the inevitable happens. A quick tuning and he's off. "What'd he write, can you see?" asks the guitar, even though he'll be one of the first ones to hear. To which the notebook responds, "It's kinda hard to see considering everything's upside down but it looks like it says..." At that very instance the master begins strumming along and starts singing softly:
---
Close your eyes, close the door
You don't have to worry any more.
I'll be your baby tonight.

"Boy, were we off!" shouts the guitar, over the loud playing. "Sounds like a happy song."

After a quick cigarette and a half of joint the master begins to think to himself. He wonders to himself if all of the pain and sacrifice of all his endless nights of writing and playing are worth it. He wonders what will fill the next blank page. He remembers the night he turned heads as his audience watched (some in anger that he "sold out" and others in enjoyment) as he magically blended folk and rock into one. He remembers the boos, the cheers, and all the fans over the years. A smile is brought to his face as he thinks of going from playing in corner coffee shops in New York all the way to the big time.

He thinks of the night in the Chelsea Hotel writing "Sad-eyed Lady of the lowlands" for his wife Sarah. The master sits back in his chair, puts his feet on the table and stares at his pen. He stares deliberately at his pen as if looking for inspiration. The pens screams out inaudibly, "I love you, man!" But alas. The master cannot hear these words of love, though, he just continues staring at the pen.

The master then begins thinking about his almost fateful motorcycle crash and begins humming something about "knocking on heaven's door". The old, rusty razor yells with pride, "He used me that night, my God! I didn't sleep for a week!" The notebook, always of good humor, responds, "HELL, you could have killed him right there!" The master is always the center of attention in this room, as you might expect. Of course, being the greatest of all time can have that effect on people, er... things.

As the master was about to take a little rest he began to pick up a magazine in which he has been quoted. He ponders the ups and downs of being famous and all of the expectations that come with it. He reads his dialogue from an article about him, "You can't try you have to write for yourself. There are too many phonies out there and all the one hit wonders. They come up with a gimmick catch phrase, write some mumbo jumbo and the people love it. Six months later they've blown all their dough and the fans never even knew who
---
they were."

As he gazes out the window at the pouring rain out side the master wonders again who exactly he is writing for, who are the ones who really enjoy his work. He doesn't realize that his biggest fan is sitting right here in this room, it is actually his guitar. The two make a marvelous pair, not unlike the guitar and the notebook. Sometimes in this world in which we live in things are not always what they seem. This is the reason that the master continues with his work- to explain the unseen, to show what is right, what is pure and true and consequentially, what is wrong and needs to be changed. So with his aging face, fading voice and wearing guitar he carries on with no direction home, like a rolling stone. He knows how it feels to have to seek shelter from the storm. He is aware that the times they are a'changing and he's spreading the word to the uninformed. With that thought he begins to sing a few verses from one of his songs:

Stake my future on a hell of a past
Looks like tomorrow is coming on fast
Ain't complainin' 'bout what I got
Seen better times but who has not....

The guitar understands the master's thoughts as they have been partners for many years. If not for anyone else, he has been touched by their many nights together. The guitar has experienced what life outside the room is like through the master's music and is happy inside the dry, warm room. For the master has predicted that a hard rain's gonna fall and when you're made of wood you can't really hold an umbrella can you?

As the master is getting ready to lay down for a night's rest he happens to realize that he was sitting on one of his albums: SELF PORTRAIT by Bob Dylan. And on that note he falls asleep contently remembering what someone once said to him, "Don't think twice, it's alright."

HEALTH ASSESSMENT

Mental health is numero uno to me when mommy is manic depressive,
daddy is a pot head and good uncle Kenny is in jail primarily due to being
hooked on crack and coke. Thank you for playing the game of life. Many people
look at the future and see obstacles as large as mountains in front of them. They
spend so much time plotting and mapping their course that by the time they take
part in their adventure ahead they have run out of supplies. When it was time for
me to take my voyage I just started walking. Life can be very poetic and highly
symbolic and just by the first paragraph you may be able to see my love of
poetry. I write and think in thoughts like these always and many times without
even realizing it. I live to show people what they're missing. I think that every
poet loves and lives to lend others another set of eyes. You only have one pair
of shoes to wear so you might as well try looking at other shoes when you have
the chance. I give people that chance.

My health...a case study in itself. I smoke a pack a day of cigarettes,
exercise like that guy who does Tybo through my job of maintenance (carpenter,
land scaper, construction, painter, laborer and everything else involved in
property management). I sleep six hours on weeknights and 10 - 12 on
---
weekends. I'm an alcoholic by nature and an addict by choice. I spend my life on
the end of two extreme planes of sobriety and cloud surfing. I very recently fell
off the wagon again after over four months of sobriety: last year was 6 on and 6
off. Now those are mountains. I wear my heart on my sleeve and often tell
people my life story on the bus...that is just the way I am.

The reality is that I am an extremist to the nth degree. My weight has
fluctuated from 218 to 168 pounds. I can go from quire boy to Satanist in an
instant. I graduated high school with a 1.87 GPA and after 20-something classes
of college I now have a 3.71 GPA. I'm a workaholic who spent my Christmas
vacation completely redoing two rooms of my grandmother and I's house...70
something hours it took me. I started it straight and by the time I was finished I
had constructed a duct tape and tie wrap beer holder which I hung from a hook
on the ceiling. She was ill and spent the last two months over her daughter's
house. She'll be back by the time you read this so I hope it will help me get back
on the wagon.

Speaking of extremes, I was the biggest bully up until I was a junior in
high school. Since then I am absolutely the most wonderful human being (also
human doing) this side of India. I have dedicated my life towards others and
helping make all whom I encounter better. I pride myself on being a teacher (my
minor; history major) and I always take a foreign student with a language barrier
from each of my classes and tutor them. Suki is my student in your class, I've
---
already decided on it and gone out of my way to befriend her. Actually, a girl
(well, women for she's 27) whom I'm kind of dating just left my house an hour
ago and I tutored her in adolescent psychology111 last semester.

Spirit, my spirit has come and gone like a guy with a warrant seeing police
walking by his house. Being brought up in a parochial school for 10 year will
have a high effect on an impressionable youth nowadays. The only C's I got at
Saint Joe's were in French and Religion. Saint John's Prep didn't help either. I
am a man who doesn't know if god exists or if aliens created us as entertainment
or if you live and then you die. What do you do if you fall under this category?

Lead your life as will as you can
Help as many living things you can
Sleep well knowing that if there is a god
Then he will take you.

WELLNESS PLANNING

No, I never would have thought that I would be given the opportunity to work on rehabilitating my drug and alcohol addiction for college credit. To think that I thought that the best thing about this semester was taking History of Baseball (HIS 311) for credit. Top that! You did! As usual, I will attempt to blend poetry with my everyday life and in this case my wellness planning. As I have been facing these same problems for over five years my poetry is quite entwined with my use. Many 3:00 AM poems have been influenced by more than just my creativity. I know the road and I know how to succeed yet saying and doing are often found on opposite ends of the highway.

My life in a nutshell: a small window into the scene of my reality. After one of the craziest nights of my life I was hoping to turn the page. I waited out the hangover and put my time to good use. I started reading a book for college and I had to read a chapter on addiction. Four pages into it I took some pills that I had. Seven pages into it I was walking in the cold to meet my dealer. I made up my mind not to read anymore that night. Something inside me gets triggered when I see pictures of girls smoking bones and four lines of coke sitting on a mirror. That was page 156. I made it one more page and it was all over.

I have to go to court ordered weekly alcohol classes and some of my biggest times of weakness is when drugs and alcohol is brought to the forefront and rammed down my throat, bled into my veins and shoved up my nose. Not everyone can carry their cross all the way down to the end the road. I sometimes wonder that if I was blind and deaf would I still have the urge to party? No outside influences or passing temptations. See no evil, hear no evil. But I guess we all have our crosses to bear.

Just what is the secret to overcoming the largest obstacle in your path down the road of life? If you're me, alcoholic's anonymous can play a large role in your quest for sobriety. When I was going to meetings earlier this year I had over four months under my belt. I stopped going and I soon stopped being sober. Alison's Airplane is AA...
